Erlanger Orthopedic Program Awarded Region’s Only Advanced Certification For Total Hip And Knee Replacement

The Erlanger Orthopaedic Center of Excellence earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval as a Certified Center of Excellence for Primary Hip and Knee Replacement.  This certification is for Joint Commission-accredited hospitals, critical access hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers seeking to elevate the quality, consistency and safety of their services and patient care.

Joint Commission  evaluates compliance with advanced, disease-specific care standards and total hip and total knee replacement requirements, including orthopaedic consultation, and pre-operative, intraoperative and post-surgical orthopaedic surgeon follow-up care.

“Achieving this “Advanced Total Hip and Total Knee Replacement Certification” recognizes the Erlanger Orthopaedic Center of Excellence’s commitment to provide care in a safe and efficient manner for patients,” said Patrick Phelan, with The Joint Commission. “The advanced certification will help Erlanger better provide coordinated and comprehensive care to patients undergoing a total hip or total knee replacement.”

“The Erlanger Orthopaedic Center of Excellence features the most advanced and innovative technology and operating rooms,  boutique-style patient rooms, and a highly skilled fellowship-trained and board certified team of orthopaedic surgeons,” said Allen Bible, DPT and AVP of Orthopaedics and Rehab for Erlanger Health System. “We are proud to earn this distinctive certification from the Joint Commission which is representative of the world-class program within our Erlanger Orthopaedic department." 

The Erlanger Orthopaedic Center of Excellence offers comprehensive orthopaedic and sports medicine services for those experiencing a wide range of musculoskeletal issues due to trauma, overuse, and degenerative disorders.  Evidence-based medicine, innovative technology, and a team of board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopaedists work to provide patients with advanced diagnostic, surgical, and non-surgical treatment options.

The Erlanger Health System has invested significant resources and energy in response to the growing number of local residents facing total hip or total knee replacement surgery. There has also been an increased focus on clinical evidence-based patient care as it relates to pain management, quality of life issues, functional limitation in mobility and the return to normal daily activities.

Cliftina Jones Charged In Death Of Orange Grove Center Client, Whose Body Was Found In Van

A Chattanooga woman has been charged in the death of an Orange Grove Center client whose body was found April 18 at an Orange Grove residence. Cliftina K.
