General Burwell (B.B.) Bell and his wife Katie were the recipients of the 2018 American Patriot Award, which was presented in their absence at the Honoring the Sacrifice Foundation’s American Heroes Dinner.

General Bell, a native Tennessean, retired in 2008 following 39 years of military service.

As a four star general, General Bell commanded the United States Army in Europe, as well as NATO’s Land Component Headquarters in Heidelberg, Germany. Subsequently he served as the Commander of United States Forces in Korea, as well as commander of all Allied Forces in Korea.

General Bell and his wife have supported the work of the Honoring the Sacrifice Foundation from its beginning, and were a guiding hand when Sgt. Andrew Smith was struck by an IED in Afghanistan.

The Honoring the Sacrifice Foundation thanks General B.B. Bell and his wife Katie for their dedicated service to our country, and their encouragement, love, and support to wounded veterans and their families.
