Red Back Hymnal Singing Set For Aug. 19

Monday, August 13, 2018

The Hullander Farm, 10944 London Ln. in Apison will host the monthly Red Back Hymnal Singing on Aug. 19 at 6 p.m.

"We will be taking a special love offering for police officer Tommy Bradford of Trenton.  He was injured in the high speed chase in Dade County last week, which resulted in the loss of his left leg from the knee down," officials said.

The special singers this month will be The Johnny Bradford Quartet.

Every third Sunday, at 6 p.m., Bill and Linda Hullander have 150 to 200 people coming to sing the songs in the Red Back Hymnal, like “I’ll Fly Away” and “Victory in Jesus.” After the singing, Ms. Hullander always has a treat. Sometimes it is old-fashioned tomato sandwiches, homemade ice cream or just some Little Debbie cakes.

"People love these old songs that most churches are not signing these days.  The Red Back Hymnal that came into existence so many years ago is having a big come back," officials said.

Why I'm Voting Republican And So Should You

For much of my life, the commitment to the Democratic Party has puzzled me. I was raised to analyze both sides of issues and to make an intelligent decision based upon that information. The values of self-reliance, hard work, and individual liberty that I grew up with were the same American values that have made this country exceptional. As I have grown older, I have witnessed ... If all goes as (very carefully) planned, the most dynamic president to be hired at the University of Tennessee since the legendary Andy Holt retired in 1970, will be ushered into office today by the university’s board of trustees. The selection of Randy Boyd to take over his ala mater is a genius stroke and certainly seems to solidify two of life’s greatest truths. The first ... (click for more)
